As pressure builds, the liquid passes through the filter cloth and exits through drainage channels, while solids are retained and gradually form a filter cake on the cloth surface. Once the chambers are filled and filtration is complete, the press opens, and the formed filter cake is discharged. This batch process ensures efficient separation and low moisture content in the final sludge cake.
