Drilling Fluid Decanter Centrifuge

Drilling Fluid Decanter Centrifuge

Solids Handling, Screening & Sludge Treatment Equipment
Decanter Centrifuge

The decanter centrifuge is used to separate fine and very fine solids from the slurry. It spins at high speed, using centrifugal force to separate the materials. A screw conveyor pushes out solids, while clean liquid flows out separately. It helps improve drilling fluid quality, extend fluid life, and reduce waste and operating costs. With its compact design and wear-resistant parts, it is built for durability and easy integration into existing systems. It can also be customised with features such as variable-speed control to suit different conditions and project needs.

Working principl 01

Working Principle

The Decanter Centrifuge operates based on sedimentation under high centrifugal force. The slurry is fed into a rapidly rotating horizontal bowl, where centrifugal force causes denser solid particles to move outward and form a compact layer along the inner wall of the bowl. At the same time, the lighter liquid phase forms an inner layer and flows towards the liquid discharge outlet.

A screw conveyor (scroll), rotating at a slightly different speed from the bowl, continuously transports the settled solids towards the conical end of the centrifuge for discharge.  The clarified liquid is discharged separately, allowing continuous separation and dewatering of the slurry.
